NLCIL Management Honours High Achieving Teacher
Neyveli: Neyveli Teacher gets International Recognition in Exchange Program Sponsored by USA Shri Rakesh Kumar CMD,NLCIL, Shri R.Vikraman ,Director (HR) and Shri Shaji John ,Director (Power) felicitated Mrs. Sudha Prasad, Teacher of St. Joseph of Cluny School, Neyveli On 28.11.2019 at Corporate office, Neyveli for successfully completing the prestigious Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (FTEA) held at USA from 11th September to 30th October 2019.
Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD and Functional Directors interacted with Mrs. Sudha Prasad and motivated her and teaching community to bring more laurels to Neyveli.Sr.Joyce Roseline, Principal Cluny School, Smt M. Vijayalakshmi, President, WIPS Smt S. Vijayalakshmi, Treasurer, WIPS, Smt. Annama Thomas Asst. Treasurer WIPS, and Smt Mini.B ,Smt Mangala Gowri Publication Secretaries were present on the occasion.
Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by IREX, a global Development & Education organization. This is an exchange program wherein 116 teachers from 60 different countries of the world were selected after a grueling selection process. She is the lone teacher from Tamil Nadu among the three teachers of India selected for this cohort II.
Twenty teachers were placed at each of the six participating Universities in USA. She was placed at Appalachian State University in North Carolina. They attended 224 hours of instruction on Pedagogical methodologies; Sudha considers the Fulbright TEA program in USA a great enriching experience of education system in America which is technologically highly advanced.
FTEA program provides academic seminars on teaching methodologies and strategies, curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional technology training. Intensive English language instruction will be offered to teachers who need additional practice. It will also include a practicum of at least 40 hours with a U.S. partner teacher in a U.S. secondary school near the host university to actively engage participants in the U.S. classroom environment. Cultural enrichment, mentoring, and support will be provided to participants throughout the program.
