NMDC organized Programmes on “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan”
Hyderabad . NMDC Limited has organized programmes on ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ today i.e. 02.10.2016 at its headquarters in Hyderabad and also in all its major projects across the country spreading the message of Cleaner India and Greener India being the motto of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Dr.Narendra Kumar Nanda, Director(Technical) inaugurated the programme at Hyderabad in the presence of Shri D.S.Ahluwalia, Director(Finance) and Shri Sandeep Tula, Director(Pers.).
While addressing the gathering Dr.Narendra Kumar Nanda emphasized on the importance of cleanliness in our day to day life. He told that we should imbibe the Gandhiji’s ideology on cleanliness and contribute at least two hours in a week for cleaning our surroundings and office premises. He further added that we should concentrate on reducing the garbage beside cleanliness. Dr Nanda said like Gandhiji`s message SATYAGRAH, we should adopt “SWACHHAGRAH” - which is a call of our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
After garlanding and paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhiji, a pledge was administered by Shri Sandeep Tula. A message of Shri SandeepTula on Cleanliness Campaign was sent to all employees for their active participation in “Swachhata Abhiyan”. All the employees took the pledge and actively participated in cleaning the premises of Head Office Building Khanij Bhawan at Masab Tank.
NMDC has been pro-actively implementing Swachha Bharat Abhiyan with proper long term plan. Under Swachh Vidyalaya campaign, 2089 toilets have been constructed by NMDC in the schools of 6 Districts of Chhattisgarh and Panna District of Madhya Pradesh. Apart from the construction of toilets in schools, NMDC has been organizing cleanliness campaigns for the past two years in 16 villages in the surroundings of its production projects. An impact study of the campaigns by an independent agency is also being organized so as to know the effect of the campaigns.
The programme proved to be an energizer that boosted the morale of everyone who resolved to continue their contribution in not just keeping their surroundings clean but also in spreading awareness about the same.
