NRDC Inks Licence Agreement for Commercialization
New Delhi: Dr. H. Purushotham, CMD, NRDC, informed that NRDC and M/s Kisankraft Limited, Bengaluru have entered into License Agreement for commercialization of 'Eco-Friendly Drought Tolerant Aerobic Rice Variety-ARB6' developed by University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru an autonomous State Agricultural University of Karnataka.
The Agreement was singed by Dr. H. Purushotham, CMD, NRDC, New Delhi and Shri Ankit Prakash Chitalia, Director, M/s KisanKraft Limited, Bengaluru.
The technology for 'Eco-Friendly Drought Tolerant Aerobic Rice Variety-ARB6' has several advantages As:
(i) Puddling, levelling, raising nursery and transplanting not required: saves labour and water
(ii) Very less methane emission and eutrophication: Eco-friendly
(iii) The lesser incidence of pests and diseases: Cost effective
(iv) Well ventilated plants in wider spaced rows: saves seeds
(v) No standing water during the crop: saves water and
(vi) Inter or mixed cropping with pulses, vegetables, oilseeds possible: improves soil health. Extensive field trials as per CIB guidelines have been conducted by University.
