NRDC is setting up University Innovation Facilitation Centres in two Premiere Academic Institutions
New Delhi: Dr. H. Purushotham, CMD of NRDC has informed that NRDC has signed MOU’s with Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) and Gujarat Technological University (GTU) Ahmadabad for setting up University Innovation Facilitation Centres in their premises.
The Innovation Facilitation Centre will create awareness about IP and innovations and will facilitate Intellectual Property management and technology transfer in the University. The network of Corporation with the local, regional and global industries would facilitate the faculty, students and researchers of the University and Institute to market their innovative research work and reap the benefits of commercial success.
NRDC has been endeavouring to encourage innovative talent among the Indian citizens since its inception through several programs. To promote innovation related activities in the R&D Institutions across the country like, Universities, NIT’s, IIT’s, Autonomous Institutions & Academic Institutions, the Corporation on behalf of DSIR under its Programme for Inspiring Inventors and Innovators (PIII) has already setup four Innovation Facilitation Centres at AIIMS New Delhi, AUUP Noida, NIT Silchar and IIEST Shibpur.
