NRDC signs MOU with DRDO for Transfer of Technologies
New delhi . National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) a Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India informed that it has signed an MOU with Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India for facilitating transfer of Spin-Off technologies that has potential for civilian use to industry.
Dr. H. Purushotham Chairman & Managing Director, on behalf of National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) and Dr. S Guruprasad, Outstanding Scientist & Chief Controller R&D (Prod. Coord & Services Interaction), on behalf of Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence has signed the MOU. Dr. Purushotham informed that about 150 technologies which has potential for civilian use would be available for commercialization. NRDC had earlier licensed large number of DRDO technologies to SMEs.
CMD, NRDC further informed that the Corporation has experience of more than six decades in the development, promotion and transfer of technology for commercialization which are emanating from R&D organizations and academia. It has licensed technologies to more than 4800 entrepreneurs/companies/start ups in the country in almost all sectors of industry and provided technical and financial assistance for filing about 1700 patents in India and abroad. The Corporation shall under this MOU identify industries who would be interested in availaing the technologies developed by DRDO for commercial exploitation.
