NTPCs Pakri Barwadih coal mine starts production
New Delhi. NTPC's first mine Pakri Barwadih Coal starts production in Jharkhand and the first rake of the dry fuel was flagged off today.
The flagging off of the rake was done by Shri Arun Jaitley, Union Finance Minister in the presence of Shri Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Jharkhand, Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of State ( Independent Charge) of Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines,Govt. of India, Shri Jayant Sinha, Minister of State of Civil Aviation today in Jharkhand.
The mine has an estimated mining capacity of 15 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and has been allotted by the central government to NTPC as basket mine to meet the fuel shortfall of its power stations.
