ONGC ENGINEER DUPED OF RS 4 point 5 LAKH

Ahmedabad . A55-year-old man, working as a chief engineer with ONGC, was duped of Rs 4.5 lakh by an online travel portal registered in Delhi. The incident dates back to February 2016 when the victim requested the travel portal to book a family vacation to Singapore and Malaysia. Since then it has emerged that the portal operators have cheated 65 persons, based in different locations in India, of total Rs 2 crore. The 65 victims have now formed a WhatsApp group to share information and bring the culprits to book. 
 
Also, seven cheating complaints are pending against the accused at various police stations across India. With home in Motera area of Ahmedabad, but posted in Mumbai, Rajivkumar Maheswari’s woes didn’t end there. He claimed the Chandkheda police took over eight months to register an FIR in the case though he had first approached them in March 2016. It was only after meeting senior officials of the cybercrime division that the police filed the FIR. 
 
In February 2016, Maheswari was looking for online package deals for vacation in Singapore and Malaysia when he zeroed in on travel portal TravelDealBazaar.com. He found their offer of Rs 49,999 per person for six days and seven nights attractive and also got in touch with members of extended family to join him. Rahul Bhasin and Amit Gupta from the portal got in touch with him and a deal was fixed for 10 persons, including Maheswari, his wife and two sons. Ahmedabad Mirror
