RINL Empowers Youth Through Skill Training

Visakhapatnam: Vocational training (Skill development training) program for youth including women residing in Rehabilitation Colonies was inaugurated by Shri. PK Mohapatra, General Manager (L&A), HOD of CSR, RINL at CWC Vadlapudi today.

This year training is being organized for 320 beneficiaries residing in the RH colonies, surrounding villages of plant and Garbham mines area of RINL in various trades like LMV driving, Cutting & Tailoring, Arya Works, Blouse designing & Beautician. First-time LMV driving is being imparted to women to enable them to gain remunerative ‘livelihoods with dignity’. The programme also enhances their awareness on rights and enables them to become independent and confident individuals in charge of their lives.

In his inaugural address, Shri.PK Mohapatra reiterated the commitment of RINL towards empowering the youth of the RH colonies and surrounding villages with the required skills to earn a better livelihood. Later he flagged off the training programme in LMV driving.

Since 2007-08, RINL-CSR is providing vocational training for the unemployed youth in the RH colonies/surrounding villages of VSP, tribal areas and Mines through Jan Shikshan Sansthan. Around 6000 unemployed youth have been benefitted from the above training programmes till date.

Shri. G.Gandhi, DGM (CSR), other officials of CSR department, CWC committee members, the programme officer of Jana Sikshana Sansthan and the beneficiaries of the training programme attended the function.

Skill India is an initiative of the Government of India to empower the youth of the country with skill sets which make them more employable and more productive in their work environment. To accomplish this, Vocational training/Skill development is an effective catalyst in bridging the gap between ensuring livelihoods for individual and getting skilled workforce for the companies.
