S N Sahai is Power Secy Pankaj Kumar to be UIDAI CEO

NEW DELHI .Senior IAS officer Shri Sanjeev Nandan Sahai was appointed as the new power secretary as part of a top-level bureaucratic reshuffle effected by the Centre on Tuesday. Sahai, a 1986-batch IAS officer of union territories cadre, is at present special secretary in the Ministry of Power. He will take over as the power secretary after the retirement of incumbent Subhash Chandra Garg on October 31, a Personnel Ministry order said. Garg was removed as finance secretary before being posted as power secretary. He had sought voluntary retirement from service and it was granted. In other appointments, Pankaj Kumar, the additional secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, will be the CEO of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which issues Aadhaar.
 
• According to the official order, Braj Raj Sharma, a 1984 batch IAS officer working as Secretary in the Home Ministry’s Department of Border Management, has been given the charge of SSC chairman.
 
• National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) chairman Nagendra Nath Sinha, 1987 batch Jharkhand cadre IAS officer, has been given the charge of Secretary, Department of Border Management, which falls under the Home Ministry.
 
• The 1985 batch IAS officer Sanjeev Gupta, who is Special Secretary at Inter-State Council Secretariat under the Home Ministry, has been elevated to the post of Secretary the Secretariat.
 
• Shri Braj Raj Sharma, IAS (JK:84), Secretary, Department of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs as Chairman, Staff Selection Commission in the rank and pay of Secretary . .
 
• Shri Sanjeev Gupta, IAS (HP:85), Special Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs as Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat.
