SAIL, CII ink MOU on ensuring water efficiency
NEW DELHI . A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Steel Authority of India and CII - Triveni Water Institute for a joint partnership towards water conservation and management towards improving efficiency and competitiveness.
Under this partnership, : Conducting water audits; Water shed evaluation and management; Facilitation of rain water harvesting concepts; Facilitating implementation of "Zero water discharge"; Use of satellite systems for mapping of water sheds; drainage and water lines; Water use efficiency and footprint study; Benchmark study; Blue ratings; Suggesting technological interventions for optimizing water use and waste water purification based on related research, and preparation of a water conservation road map of SAIL.
The MoU was signed by N.Bhattacharya, Executive Director, Operations, Steel Authority of India (SAIL) and Dr.Kapil Narula, Executive Director and CEO, CII -Triveni Water Institute in the presence of M. Satyanarayana, Advisor, National Water Mission, Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India and Sashi Shekhar Mohanty, Director ( Technical) Steel Authority of India Limited .
