Secretary Coal Shri Susheel Kumar visits NCL

Singrauli: Visit of Shri. Susheel Kumar, Coal Secretary, Government of India to Northern Coalfields Limited concluded on Monday. During his three-day visit to NCL, Shri.Kumar reviewed performance of the company, inspected mines and its operations and inaugurated various new initiatives of the company.
 
Soon after his arrival on Saturday evening, Shri Kumar chaired a ‘Review Meeting’ with higher ups of the company. On this occasion, Shri.Kumar also launched ‘Pallav’, a monthly CSR newsletter of NCL.
 
On Sunday, Shri Kumar inaugurated Coal Handling Plant (CHP) expansion Phase III having capacity to handle 5 million tonne coal per annum in Nigahi Area, NCL. With the addition, the coal handling capacity of Nigahi CHP has now touched to 15 million tonne mark per annum. Shri.Kumar also inspected ‘Krishna’ dragline and reviewed its operations. Later, Shri.Kumar inaugurated ‘Minimal Invasive Surgery Unit’ at Nehru Shatabdi Chikitsalaya. The unit is equipped with the facilities of laparoscopy, orthoscopy and hysteroscopy. He also inaugurated renovated operation theatre and lauded maintenance and upkeep of hospital. Late in the evening, Shri Kumar interacted with representatives of trade unions, CMOAI, local administration, project affected persons (PAP’s), local residents and young officers of NCL.
 
Before his return to Varanasi on Monday afternoon, Shri.Kumar also visited Bina and Dudhichua mines of NCL.
 
Throughout his three day visit at NCL, Shri Kumar was accompanied by Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NCL, Shri Tapas Kumar Nag, Director (Personnel), Ms.Shantilata Sahu, Director(Technical/Operations), Shri.Gunadahar Pandey, Director (Finance) Shri P.S.R.K.Sastry, Director(Technical/Project & Planning), Shri.J.L.Singh and Chief Vigilance Officer, Shri.Ashish Kumar Srivastava.
