Shri Samir Mukherjee assumed charge of director personnel in ECIL

New Delhi: Shri Samir Mukherjee, has assumed charge of Director (Personnel) in Electronics Corporation of India Limited, (ECIL), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Atomic Energy on 23.12.2019 Shri Samir Mukherjee started his career with McLeod Russell Ltd. as a Welfare Officer.
 
Thereafter, he joined Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Govt. of India Maharatna PSU as an Engineer Trainee (HR) at its Corporate Office in New Delhi in the year 1988. Prior to joining ECIL, he was steering the overall HR function of BHEL, as General Manager (HR) at
its Corporate Office in New Delhi, overseeing the entire gamut of HR processes encompassing core areas of HR in Manpower Planning, Talent Acquisition & Management with focus on inclusion and diversity at workplace, HR Policy formulation and implementation, Industrial
Relations, Law and Contract labour management.
 
Mr. Mukherjee is an alumnus of Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi from where he persued Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations. Mr. Mukherjee is people-oriented and has been instrumental in implementing various innovative and people centric initiatives like constitution of Post-retirement medical benefits trust, introduction of sabbatical leave, child care leave, project leave for site employees, conceiving and implementation of Unified Health Management System.
 
He has also played pivotal role in merger of BHPV with BHEL and was also the HR Lead Member in formation of 2 Joint Ventures (NBBPL and BHELEML). Under his mentorship, BHEL has been honoured with various awards and accolades in the area of HR, the recent one being National Award for Outstanding Achievement in Industrial Relations 2015-16 instituted by FICCI-AIOE. He has been associated with CII in its PSE and IR Council as a member.
