NAGPUR.   Western Coalfields Limited , which was posting negative growth since last five years has turned around.,and now  planned to ramp up the coal production to 45.50 Million Tonnes during FY 2015-16, that is  a record growth of 10.6%.The company posted a positive growth in FY 2014-15, by producing 41.15 MT of coal.

 

Out of, 26 projects identified to be opened upto FY 2016-17, WCL team has been successful in opening 5 projects till date. Balance 21 projects will be opened in 21 months (till FY 2016-17), that is “Opening One Project per Month”.

 

 

Mutual Trust and Social acceptance is the key of success of any mining company says Sri Rajiv R Mishra, CMD , who joined in the month of Oct 2014 and set the ball rolling, through meeting with Project Affected people. Team WCL visited 24 times from November 2014 to March 2015 in different villages of projects .

 

Team WCL has conceptualized trust building measures to enhance its outreach to the most important stake holders- the Project Affected People through Chaupals - Monthly Meeting with villagers, Sampark – Suggestion / Complaint Box, Nishkarsh - Resolution of the issues of PAPs, Utsav - Participation of WCL representatives in local cultural events.
