UJALA benefites more than 5 crore citizens
NEW DELHI. The Ministry of Power has advised consumers to continue switching to LED bulbs in order to save energy and not get influenced by ‘incorrect information’ spread by some surveys.
In a statement, the Ministry of Power said that the Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) scheme have resulted in 5,57,00,2700 units of electricity being saved and a reduction of 45,000 tonne of carbon emissions.
“The Ministry has clarified that UJALA has benefited more than 5 crore citizens possible only through robust distribution mechanism,” the statement said.
