Verma set to take over as SAIL CEO in April

Bokaro: Shri B P Verma, executive director (works) of Rourkela Steel Plant, will take over as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) on April 1. The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) management has appointed Verma as executive director in charge (works and projects). He will assume charge after present CEO, Anutosh Maitra, retires on March, 31. 
 
Eleven senior officials of different SAIL units tried their luck in interviews for the post of CEO. The candidates include Bhilai Steel Plant ED (works) T B Singh, Burnpur Steel Plant ED (works) P K Singh, ED (power) corporate office Tejvir Singh, BSL ED (personnel and administration) Atul Srivastava and others. 
 
Verma was recommended to the Union steel ministry by the SAIL board headed by chairman P K Singh and after getting green signal his appointment order was released on Friday. T B Singh gave a tough fight to Verma in the selection process, SAIL sources said. Verma has 34 years of experience in steel-making. Verma worked in Coke Oven department from his joining upto level of GM, said BSL, spokesperson Manikant Dhan. Times of India
