The Hon’ble Minister, on arrival, was received by Shri Deepak Kumar Hota, Chairman & Managing Director & Functional Directors of the Company.
The Hon’ble Minister complemented BEML Team for their good efforts in producing indigenous products, duly reflecting the ‘Make in India’ policy and the exemplary skill levels possessed by the Company.

The special features of the equipment / facilities rolled out  by Hon’ble Minister are as under:

BULLDOZER (BD475-1)

BD 475-1, an 850 Horse Power giant Bulldozer with Ripper attachment is the biggest dozer in the world and BEML has entered into this segment, hitherto dominated only by MNCs. The unique feature of this dozer is that coal, bauxite  seams and other minerals can be exposed by removing the overburden without blasting. This is particularly useful in mines located close to densely populated areas, where blasting will not be permitted. This import substation equipment is a feather in the cap of BEML and saves huge amount of foreign exchange to the exchequer.

Hydraulic Excavator (BE1800D) :
Similarly, the biggest ever 180 Ton (BE1800D) Hydraulic Excavator, indigenously designed & developed by BEML with over 90% indigenous content serves as an import substitution for application in mega mines. BEML was making excavators upto 160 tons and this addition will enable it to serve the customers with a model which can help in loading high capacity dump trucks in the country.
In the Earthmover segment, 30% of BEML’s sales is to private sector companies like Reliance, Adani, Mine Developers & Operators and other mid sized contractors.

Hull for T 72 Tank variants :
In its effort to increase contribution to Armed forces, BEML has collaborated with OFB for various projects, one amongst them being manufacturing of Hull for T 72 Tank variants. This will help in supplementing production of hulls at OFB.

3rd Line Metro Manufacturing Facility :
BEML, a PSU is the first Indian Company to manufacture & supply state-of-the-art Metro Cars in India and has supplied over 1200 Metro Cars to various Metro Corporations like Delhi, Bangalore & Jaipur. In its efforts to address the growing demand and keep its leadership position, BEML has further increased its production capacity from 18 cars per month to 27 cars per month by augmenting the jigs, fixtures & machines and at the same time ensuring highest quality standards associated with manufacture of Metro Cars.
