Workshop to Prevent Corruption and Contribute Nation Development at NMDC
Hyderabad: As part of the Vigilance Awareness Week to be observed from 30th October to 04th November 2017, a workshop was conducted at NMDC Corporate office on the theme “Our Vision to prevent Corruption and to contribute to the Nation’s Development”.
Dr. Narendra K. Nanda, Director (Technical), NMDC in his speech insisted employees should follow four cardinal rules i.e. Transparency, Fairness, Competitiveness and Accountability in all spheres of work. Dr. T.R.K. Rao, Director (Commercial) in his speech said this kind of workshop would help in preventive vigilance by following laid down principles, following Standard Operating procedures and encourage field inspections. Shri K. Vidyasagar, Chief Vigilance Officer, NMDC said the week-long activities would ensure to bring in more awareness among the employees at NMDC Projects and Head Office.
All the Departments of NMDC Hyderabad constituting 10 teams have actively participated in the workshop which briefly touched on the activities of their respective departments with the main thrust being on the sensitive areas within their work spheres which may attract vigilance angle and the steps taken by their departments to address these areas so as to take pre-emptive action. All the teams gave suggestions for improving upon the existing system where necessary. An active Question and answer session took place after each presentation.
The presentations were also witnessed by Shri P.K. Satpathy, Director (Production), Shri Sandeep Tula, Director (Personnel) and senior officers of the various departments. A Jury comprising of senior management evaluated the presentations and the Prize winners were Finance Dept and Materials Dept.
