33rd Meeting on Shipbuilding under IRIGC on Military Technical Cooperation

Goa: Indo-Russian Inter-Governmental Commission (IRIGC) on Military-Technical Cooperation (MTC) is holding a 33rd subgroup meeting on Shipbuilding at Goa from 12-16 Feb 2019. Meetings held twice in a year, alternatively, in India and Russia, have proved to be an excellent platform for resolving issues related to ongoing and prospective shipbuilding projects in India. Vice Admiral A K Saxena, CWP&A is the Co-Chairman of Subgroup on Shipbuilding from Indian Side and Mr. L V Strugov, First Vice President, United Shipbuilding Cooperation is the Co-Chairman of IRIGC on MTC from Russian Side.
 
Cmde Rakesh Anand, CMD, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. (MDL) in his welcome address highlighted that after completion of the Mazdock Modernization Project, MDL has a capacity to build 10 Warships and 11 Submarines simultaneously. He informed that MDL has identified some projects along with Russian side where part-manufacturing will be undertaken in India.
 
The meeting is being attended by delegates from Govt. of Russian Federation, Rosoboronexport, Russian Industries, Govt. of India, Indian Navy and Indian Shipyards.
