IOCL Signed MoU with TNSCERT for Providing Smart Classes in 11 Schools
Chennai: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Southern Region Pipelines (SRPL) inked an MoU with Tamilnadu State Council for Educational Research & Training (TNSCERT) for providing 11 Smart Classes in 11 Government schools in remote villages in Tamilnadu with a total project cost of Rs. 25.5 Lakh. Through this CSR scheme, IOCL wants to reach out to the 5 schools of Ramanathapuram District which is declared as Aspirational District by NITI Ayog. The balance 5 schools are in Tuticorin Distrci & One School is in Thiruvallur District. The smart class is a step forward in the direction of Digital India as this initiative would enable teachers to teach seamlessly with the use of technology and also enable students to grasp the subject with more clarity & understanding.
The MoU was signed by Executive Director, IOCL (SRPL), and Dr. G. Arivoli, State Project Director (SCERT), Chennai.
TNSCERT is a State Govt. body which is involved in finalizing the syllabus & curriculum for the school education in Tamilnadu. The scheme will be executed through their District Level DIETs. ED (SRPL) has stated that IOCL is committed to bringing socially oriented projects to the rural Tamilnadu under CSR platform. Shri Thangaraj, Chief General Manager (C), IOCL, Chennai & Shri P. Rama Kishore, DGM (CSR), IOCL, Chennai and Joint Director, TNSCERT were present during the MoU signing ceremony.
