MCL Provides Rs. 20 Lakh for Drinking Water at Puri Rathyatra
Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has sanctioned Rs 20 lakh assistance to Puri administration for distribution of water bottles among devotees during the Rathyatra-2019.
Lakhs of tourists, including foreigners, throng holy city of Puri during the car festival, which signifies the visit of Lord Jagannath to his maternal home.
A Coal India subsidiary having mining operations spread over in Angul, Jharsugua and Sundergarh districts, MCL sanctioned Rs 20 lakh in favour of Executive Engineer RWS&S Division, Puri, under its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative, for supplying drinking water bottles during the Rathyatra at Puri.
The coal miner has been actively contributing towards in socio-economic upliftment of underprivileged segments of Odisha.
During previous financial year 2018-19, MCL had spent Rs 167 crore in Odisha under CSR.
