NLCIL Celebrates 70th Republic Day with Great Enthusiasm
Neyveli: The 70th Republic Day of the Nation was celebrated at NLCIL with great fervour and enthusiasm. Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD, NLCIL garlanded the bust of Mahatma Gandhi at the Township Administration Office premises and inaugurated the day-long celebrations. Later, he hoisted the tricolour flag at the Bharathi Stadium. He inspected the ceremonial parade and accepted the Guard of Honour presented by the Rifle, Commando and Fire Service units of Central Industrial Security Force, NLCIL’s Security Force, Fire Services, Home Guards, NCC volunteers and students from Neyveli schools and college.
The stage function commenced with the Welcome Address by Shri R.Vikkraman, Director/HR. Then Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD delivered his Republic Day Message.
The senior most employee of NLCI Smt. S.Lakshmi, Attendant Spl. Gr.A, Medical Branch along with her spouse Shri K. Bhaskaran were honoured by Smt. & Shri Rakesh Kumar and tricycles were presented to Kumari J. Mahalakshmi, Shri K.Vijay and Kumari. Ramya Priya, differently abled persons (Divyangs).
Shri V. Thangapandian, Director (Power), Shri R. Vikraman, Director (Human Resource) and Shri N.N.M Rao, Director (Planning & Projects), participated in the function. The long service awards, loyal service awards and special awards were also presented to the employees by CMD. Special Awards were also presented by functional directors to students who excelled in sports.
NLCIL’s employees, representatives of Unions and Associations and the residents of Neyveli were present in Bharathi Stadium to witness the celebrations. Colourful cultural programme presented by about 3700 school children were appreciated by one and all. A gift amount of Rs.14.00 lakh was announced for the students who performed in the cultural programme.
To mark this occasion, the Members of the Neyveli Ladies Club distributed fruits to the in-patients of the NLCIL General Hospital and wished them for a speedy recovery. The highlight of the evening function was the distribution of certificates to the students of the Neyveli Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha at Learning & Development Centre, Block-20, Neyveli.
