SCOPE Organizes Program on Corporate Governance
New Delhi: SCOPE organized Training Program on Corporate Governance with the theme on 'Effective Directors for Sustainable Competitiveness'. Mr. Atanu Chakraborty, IAS, Secretary, Department of Investment & Public Asset Management (DIPAM) inaugurated the programme in the presence of Mr. Ved Prakash, Chairman, SCOPE & CMD, MMTC, Dr. U. D. Choubey, Director General, SCOPE, Prof. Y. R. K. Reddy and Mr. Peter Greenwood, Lead resource persons and host of CEOs/Directors of PSEs.
Chief Guest, Shri Atanu Chakraborty, IAS, Secretary, DIPAM while inaugurating the programme said that the functional directors depict the organization collectively rather than a specific vertical of the organization. He advocated best practices in corporate governance and enhance core values.
Shri Ved Prakash, Chairman, SCOPE, said that in the fast-changing global environment, Indian PSEs shall act proactively to overcome technological disruptions. He added that Corporate Governance is critical in PSEs to carry forward the government's agenda.
Dr. U, D. Choubey, Director General, SCOPE said that Independent Directors are the conscience keepers of the organization and they ensure that the board takes decision-based on ethics, transparency, Integrity and responsiveness.
