SJVN signs MoU with Ministry of Power
Shimla: SJVN Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Govt. of India for the year 2019-20 today in New Delhi. The MOU was signed between Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Secretary (Power), Government of India and Shri Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN.
As per the targets set in MOU, SJVN shall strive to achieve 9100 Million Units of electricity generation during the year under ‘Excellent’ category. Further, SJVN will have Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) target of Rs. 1175 Crores and Turnover target of Rs. 2450 Crores under Excellent category along with other targets related to operational efficiency and Project monitoring.
The MoU signing was attended by Shri Aniruddha Kumar, Joint Secretary (Hydro), Shri Sunil Gautam, Director (Hydro-I) and Shri Kundan Kumar, Under Secretary (Hydro-II) from the Ministry of Power and Shri A.S. Bindra, Director (Finance), Shri R. K. Bansal, Director (Electrical), Smt. Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel) and Shri S.P. Bansal Director (Civil), along with other senior officers from SJVN.
During the programme Shri Nand Lal Sharma apprised Secretary (Power) that with an installed capacity of 2015 MW, SJVN has already paid an interim dividend of Rs. 589.47 crores to its shareholders in FY 2018-19. He further told that SJVN has recently awarded the Main Plant works of 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Thermal Private Limited (STPL) on EPC basis.
Shri Sharma assured Secretary (Power) that SJVN will definitely achieve the ambitious targets of becoming 5000 MW Company by 2023, 12000 MW Company by 2030 and 25000 MW Company by 2040.
