World Environment Day observed at KIOCL
Bengaluru: KIOCL Limited, a Government of India Enterprise under Ministry of Steel, celebrated 'World Environment Day' in its true spirit today on 5th June 2019 at all its Units.
In the Corporate Office, Bengaluru, while celebrating the Environment Day, Shri M V Subba Rao, CMD, emphasized the need for having Clean and Green environment and requested everyone to contribute in their own way to protect the environment. The simple way to protect the Environment is through planting more & more saplings. The theme for World Environment Day- 2019 is 'Air Pollution'. He stated that approximately 7 million people worldwide die prematurely each year from air pollution, with about 4 million of these deaths occurring in Asia-Pacific. He urged every individuals to come together to explore renewable energy and green technologies to improve air quality in cities & regions across the world.
Shri Rao also stated that celebration of 'World Environment Day' is very important in our life. It is the day on which awareness on issue related to environment is brought in and we pledge to keep it protected for our better future.
Shri Vidyananda N, Director (Production & Project), Shri Swapan Kumar Gorai, Director (Finance), Shri T Saminathan, Director (Commercial), Dr. Vijay Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer, Senior Officers and WIPS Corporate Wing of the company participated in the celebration by planting saplings at KIOCL office premises. Saplings were also distributed to the employees.
