India and Brunei Sign Terms of Reference for Defence Cooperation Joint Working Group
India and Brunei Darussalam formalize a Joint Working Group to enhance defence cooperation, marking a step toward stronger bilateral security collaboration.

New Delhi – December 9, 2025 – India and Brunei Darussalam today signed the Terms of Reference (ToRs) to establish a Joint Working Group (JWG) aimed at driving the implementation of defence cooperation between the two nations.
The ToRs were signed by Shri Amitabh Prasad, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence, India, and Ms Poh Kui Choon, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam.
The creation of this Joint Working Group represents a significant step toward structured engagement and enhanced bilateral collaboration in the defence sector, strengthening strategic ties and fostering mutual understanding on security matters.
This move is expected to facilitate regular consultations, joint initiatives, and cooperative efforts in defence planning and operations, paving the way for a more robust India-Brunei defence partnership.
