Shipping Corporation of India Appoints Uttam Gharde as Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer

Mumbai, January 9, 2026: The Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI) has announced a change in its senior management with the appointment of Mr. Uttam Gharde as Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer (Dy. CVO), effective January 1, 2026.

The company made the disclosure in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, through a filing with the stock exchanges on January 9, 2026.

According to the company, the appointment was made through an internal order, under which Mr. Gharde has taken charge of the Vigilance Division, thereby becoming part of SCI’s senior management team. The event occurred on January 9, 2026 at 10:45 AM, as per the official communication.

About Uttam Gharde

Mr. Uttam Sadashiv Gharde is a Mechanical Engineering graduate and holds the prestigious qualification of Marine Engineer (MEO Class I). He brings with him over 33 years of extensive experience across key maritime functions including maritime training, fleet personnel management, ship operations, dry dock operations and repair bill settlement.

He joined The Shipping Corporation of India in August 1992 as a Fifth Engineer Officer and sailed on vessels from 18 August 1992. He transitioned to the shore cadre on 7 April 2006 and was promoted to the position of Deputy General Manager in April 2019.

SCI stated that Mr. Gharde’s vast operational and technical experience is expected to further strengthen the company’s vigilance and governance framework.
