Vikas Kaushal appointed as HPCL CMD for five years
The government has appointed Vikas Kaushal as the Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for a term of five years.
Kaushal previously served as the Managing Director and Country Head for five years. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) proposed his appointment to this top position.
According to a government order, “The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for the appointment of Vikas Kaushal (DOB: 17.09.1971) to the position of CMD at HPCL, in relaxation of the eligibility criteria.”

He was elected twice to Kearney’s Global Board of Directors, completing two full terms, which is the maximum allowed under Kearney's board structure.
He also served as the Chair of the Finance, Audit, and Governance Committees. Kearney, which was formerly known as A.T. Kearney, was founded in 1926 and is a global management and advisory consulting firm with annual revenues of $1.6 billion.
Kaushal was appointed to the board, making him the only Indian considered competent for selection to Kearney’s Global Board. He previously held the position of Global Leader for Energy and Process Industries at Kearney, where he served all major global oil and gas companies.
