Rajorshi Misra Shines as Best Player in CBSE Far East Zone Chess Championship 2024
Rajorshi Misra, a key member of the winning team, and son of Shri Hiranmoy Misra, Senior Manager (Chemistry) at NTPC Bongaigaon.
The CBSE Far East Zone Chess Championship (Under-17 Mixed) 2024 was successfully held from 20th to 22nd September at Royal Global School, Guwahati, Assam. Among the 46 participating schools and 184 competitors, DPS Ruby Park, Kolkata, emerged as the champion in the U-17 category.
Rajorshi Misra, a key member of the winning team, and son of Shri Hiranmoy Misra, Senior Manager (Chemistry) at NTPC Bongaigaon, showcased exceptional skill throughout the tournament. Competing in Board 4, Rajorshi delivered a stellar performance, winning six out of seven matches and securing one draw. His consistent gameplay earned him the prestigious Best Player title in the Board 4 category.
The tournament saw fierce competition, with 49 internationally rated players vying for the top spot. Rajorshi’s achievement not only brings pride to DPS Ruby Park but also highlights the rising talent nurtured by the NTPC Bongaigaon community.
