A confrontation occurs between bank and customer at Yellandu
New Delhi: An argument took place between the employee of Union Bank of India and a bank customer at Yellandu in Bhandradri Kothagudem (Formerly Branch of Andhra bank) on Tuesday.
Sources said, Ashok, a tribal farmer from Amarsingh thanda in Yellandu mandal, took a gold loan of Rs 70,000 seven months back from the bank. He repaid the loan amount on Tuesday along with interest and requested the bank officials to release the gold.
The bank officials refused to release the pledged gold stating that he has a crop loan of Rs 1.42 lakh overdue for three years and it has to be cleared before they can release the gold. Then the customer entered into an argument with bank officials questioning why they would not release the gold.
In conflict between the employees and the customer, the one suffered a bleeding injury on his face. The bank officials blamed Ashok for starting the argument and pushed a bank employee with his hands. In the other hand Ashok, speak with the media and alleged that a field officer of the bank had hurled invective at him taking the name of his caste. He lodged a complaint with local police against the bank officials. TELANGANA TODAY
