CCL Bagged National Safety Award Mines 2015 and 2016

New Delhi: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) bagged 4 awards under different category during the ‘National Safety Awards (Mines) 2015 & 2016’ award ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on December 16, 2019. The award was given away by Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu.
 
CCL’s JARANGDIH OPENCAST PROJECT, KATHARA AREA won in LOWEST INJURY FREQUENCY RATE (LIFR) PER MILLION CUM. OUTPUT, 2016 category. Similarly, CCL’s AMRAPALI OPENCAST PROJECT in LOWEST INJURY FREQUENCY RATE (LIFR) PER MILLION CUM. OUTPUT, 2015 category, JARANGDIH OPENCAST PROJECT, KATHARA AREA, in LOWEST INJURY FREQUENCY RATE (LIFR) PER LAKH MANSHIFT, 2015 and SELECTED DHORI QRY.NO.1 (KALYANI PROJECT) in LONGEST ACCIDENT FREE PERIOD (LAFP), 2016 category won the runner up prize respectively.
 
Safety has been the foremost priority at CCL and Management under the dynamic leadership of CMD Shri Gopal Singh has been motivating the employees and creating the awareness among the employees and different stakeholders through various tools. Endeavor has been made to encourage the employees to conduct regular safety meetings and come up with suggestion to implement them too. These efforts of the CCL management have reaped the desired awards and these recognition is an live example of this.
 
To promote a competitive spirit amongst mine operators for the betterment of safety standards in mines and give due recognition to outstanding safety performance at the national level, the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, instituted the National Safety Awards (Mines) in 1983 as the contest year 1983 with 1984 as Award year.
 
For the purpose of the contest for National Safety Awards (Mines) all mines have been divided into 7 different groups depending upon the type of mineral and nature of workings.
