CMD of Oil India calls on CM-Assam
The OIL team also appraised the CM about OIL’s commitment to construct dwelling units for 2000 beneficiaries under the Government of India’s Affordable Rental Housing Complexes Scheme(ARHCs) for migrant workers/laborers.
Dispur: Shri Sushil Chandra Mishra, CMD, OIL along with Shri Biswajit Roy, Director ( HR & BD), Shri Dilip Kumar Das, Resident Chief Executive, and Shri Prasanta Borkakoty, Executive Director, HR&A called on Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam at his office chamber today evening at Dispur.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, Govt of Assam, and a senior official of the state. CMD, OIL appraised the efforts made by OIL to control the blowout well in Baghjan. Shri Sonowal assured the full support of the state government to OIL in its efforts to control the Baghjan well as well as in carrying out its routine operations without any hindrances.
CMD also assured that OIL will ensure expeditious disbursement of the compensation package to the impacted local population of the area due to the blowout. CM had a telephonic talk with Deputy Commissioner, Tinsukia, and advised him to have discussions with the impacted people along with officials of OIL so that the compensation issues on which several discussions have already taken place can be resolved at the earliest with a mutually acceptable resolution.
The OIL team also appraised the CM about OIL’s commitment to construct dwelling units for 2000 beneficiaries under the Government of India’s Affordable Rental Housing Complexes Scheme(ARHCs) for migrant workers/laborers. OIL will construct the accommodations which will be given to the target beneficiaries on affordable rentals.
Appreciating OIL’s continued contribution to the socio-economic development of the state, Shri Sonowal assured that all necessary support will be provided to OIL so that this scheme can be implemented within the current fiscal.
The meeting concluded on a very positive note with CM wishing OIL all success as they approach the final stage of the Baghjan well control operations.
