MOU signed for Visakha Vimala Vidyalayams at RINL

New Delhi: An MoU was signed between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) – Visakha Refinery and The Diocese of Vizagapatam Society (responsible for running two Vishakha Vimala Vidyalayams supported by RINL) for infrastructural development in Vishakha Vimala Vidyalayams (VVV) at RINL.

RINL has been extending financial support to these two schools which are providing quality education to children coming from underprivileged sections of our society. HPCL- Visakh Refinery is now providing financial support worth Rs. 37.30 Lakh from their CSR funds for the construction of a Multipurpose Hall at VVV- BC Road (Pedagantyada) and for setting up 8 Digital/ Smart classrooms at both the VVV schools (4 smart classrooms per school).  

The event was graced with the presence of Shri Kishore Chandra Das, Director (Personnel), RINL, Shri V. Ratan Raj, Executive Director, HPCL, Shri K. Nagesh, General Manager-HR, HPCL,  Fr. P. Ratnakumar (Secretary & Treasurer), and Fr. Thomas Pulickal (Correspondent for two VVVs) from The Diocese of Vizagapatam Society among others.

Shri K. Nagesh, ED, HPCL  said that RINL has always been giving importance to education and that they are pleased to associate with RINL to further the cause of providing quality education to young students. He stated that they would be glad to collaborate for similar projects in the future also.

Acknowledging their gracious support, Shri KC Das, Director (Personnel), RINL thanked HPCL. He explained to the guests about all the educational institutes being supported by RINL and emphasized the fact that most of the students studying at these institutions come from marginalized sections of society. He also spoke about the Mid-day meal program being implemented under RINL’s CSR, aiming towards ending classroom hunger.

Expressing her gratitude towards HPCL for their generous contribution and towards RINL for facilitating this process, Sister Aruna (The Principal, VVV- BC Road) stated that the two PSUs are like big brothers who are always there for the needy communities of Visakhapatnam.
