NCL concludes Two-day International Conference ICOMS 2020

New Delhi: Northern Coalfields Limited concludes its two-day event of the International Conference on Open Cast Mining Technology and Sustainability "ICOMS" on Saturday. On the occasion, key topics of discussion are modern mining technology, environmental balance, clean energy.

During the conference, renowned mining professionals, technical experts, academics, scientists, researchers, and students from all over the country and abroad have produced, productivity, security, innovation, automation, coal gasization, artificial intelligence, processes digitization, Mining work with long-term environmental balance, personnel health, recycling of quarry waste, work-related stress impact on mental health, changes in environmental and other laws impact on coal mining, benefits of surface miners and other modern technologies such as Submitted 85 research papers on many other important topics.

Dr. Anindya Sinha, Director of NCL (Technical / Operations) present as Chief Guest on the occasion said ′′ ICOMS ′′ is a celebration of knowledge for NCL where specialists around the world at mining technology, automation, innovation, solar energy, coal gasification Diversification in and other sectors, giving important suggestions through their research papers in key areas such as the socio-economic impact of the mining industry that are implemented in a planned manner in NCL. Mr. Sinha in coordination with Industry and Technical Education Institutions Expressed NCL's commitment to providing special emphasis on Research & Development (R & D) and assured that all suggestions given during the conference will be implemented in deep discussion.

During the program, NCL Director (Technical / Project & Planning) Mr. S S Sinha, Ex-General Managers of NCL, Department President of HQ, Regional General Manager, Prof. Piyush Rai & his team from IIT BHU, Officers from different sectors of NCL, Employees were present. Also, delegates coming from the country and abroad were present.

On this occasion, NCL Director (Technical / Project & Planning) Mr. S S Sinha praised NCL's Women Brigade, Young Brigade & IIT BHU team for their important contribution in the successful event of ′′ ICOMS ′′ 2020 Mr. Sinha expressed pleasure on the successful event of the conference, saying that in the last two days, many practical and implementable solutions have been found to the day-to-day problems in the coal industry which will definitely be implemented in the near future.

During this time IIT BHU Professor Piyush Rai said that ′′ ICOMS ′′ has proved an excellent example in the field of promoting R & D by coordination with industry and educational institutions and we together are doing remarkable work in the field of environmental mining.

Start-ups of NCL-IIT-BHU Incubation Center are the centre of attraction: In the exhibition held during the conference, around 20 start-up companies affiliated with NCL-IIT BHU Incubation Center on the latest technology and innovations related to the mining sector, clean energy, automation, agricultural products, pearls, mushrooms and organic farming on multifaceted topics like Visitors informed. About 50 companies in the exhibition informed people about their products and services. IIT BHU also played a key role as a Knowledge Partner in organizing the conference.
