NHPC commences Phase-III Downstream River Protection works in Subansiri River
Assam: NHPC, Subansiri Lower HE Project has commenced the works of Downstream River Protection in the Subansiri River covered under phase-Ill with laying of Foundation stone today by Shri Naba Kumar Doley, Hon'ble Minister of Panchayat & Rural Development, Cultural Affairs, Environment & Forest, Government of Assam & MLA, Dhakuakhana and by Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Lakhimpur LS Constituency, Shri Pradan Barua, in the presence of Shri. Arvind Bhat, Executive Director & Shri. Vipin Gupta, General Manager (In-charge), Subansiri Lower HE Project.
The foundation stone has been laid for one work package on the right bank of River Subansiri adjacent to village Tadang & Hekrajan and for two work packages of 1 Km. each adjacent to village Signori in Bhimpara Pothar area with total estimated financial implication of approximately Rs.35 Crores. The total estimated cost of Phase-Ill works is approximately Rs. 175 Crore.
