NLCIL School Headmistress Wins Best Teacher Award
Neyveli: Smt. M. Senthamarai, Headmistress of NLC Girls’ Higher Secondary School, has been honoured with Dr Radhakrishnan Best Teacher Award by the Tamil Nadu State Government. The NLCIL-run Girls Higher Secondary School is situated in Block-11 of Neyveli Township.
At a function held in Cuddalore on September 7, 2020, District Collector Shri Chandra Sekhar Sakhamuri presented the award to Smt.Senthamarai. The award is given in recognition of her exemplary contribution to education, particularly in promoting girl children literacy. The award carries a medal, a citation and a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
Every year, the birth day of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India and a prominent scholar and an academician, is observed as Teachers’ Day. The Best Teacher Award has been instituted to commemorate his birth day.Smt.Senthamarai has been serving the cause of girl children education for the past 30 years. She is holding double post-graduate degrees M.A in History and M.A in English, besides B.Ed and M.Phil.
Smt. Senthamarai has brought laurel to the school and to NLC India Ltd., (NLCL), a Navratna public sector undertaking. She attributes her success to the unstinted support extended by the NLCIL management for running the school, and the cooperation of the teachers, students and their parents.
Shri R.Vikraman, NLCIL Director (HR), congratulated and felicitated the Headmistress in the presence of Shri R.Mohan, NLCIL CGM (CSR-Education, Sports and Culture). He expressed happiness that after a decade the Headmistress has brought laurels to a NLCIL-run school and wished her success in her endeavours.
