Uttar Pradesh has the highest registration of Electric Vehicles at 255,700 units

NOIDA: With the rapid increase in manufacturing and production of Electric Vehicles, India is fastly adapting to the trend and coping to be in the race, India's big eye on development will surely lead the standards towards a hub for electric vehicles.

Earlier Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also states that in the next five years India will be among the top in EV manufacturing. Tata Power, Fortum, and others companies are also engaged in the electric vehicle charging business.

The recent report by minister Nitin Gadkari in Rajya Sabha listed the states with the registration of Electric Vehicles in which Uttar Pradesh ranked as the highest number of EV registrations at 255,700. Followed by Delhi, Karnataka, Bihar, and Maharashtra.

Delhi has 125,347 units, Karnataka at 72,544 EVs. Bihar 58,014 EVs and Maharashtra 52,506 electric vehicles.

In 2021 Govt also launched Go Electric campaign to encourage the adoption of electric mobility vehicles and electric cooking appliances and to ensure energy security in the country. 


PSU's role in Electrical Vehicles

Various PSUs signed MoUs cooperating for a better change in p[ower sector.

1. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation subsidiary, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited planned to add 5,000 electric vehicles (EV) charging stations in the next three years, the company said in September 2021 reported by PSU connect.

2, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also mentioned the Oil Companies will set up 22,000 EV charging stations.

3.  Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. so far installed 439 EV charging stations and plans to install 2000 charging stations in its retail outlet network over the next year.

4. BPCL promised to set up another 1000 EV Charging Stations within the next year. 

5. IndianOil is together with Tata Power, REIL, PGCIL, NTPC, Fortum, Hyundai, Tech Mahindra, BHEL, Ola for setting up EV chargers at its fuel stations.
