RINL Emerged Champions In All India Inter Steel Cricket Championship 2019-20
Visakhapatnam: RINL emerged Champions in the All India Inter – Steel (SPSB) Cricket Championship 2019-20. In a well contested Final, RINL defeated hosts Bokaro Steel Ltd. (BSL) by three wickets to win the Championship. BSL 142/10 in 20 overs, RINL 143/7 in 19 overs. For RINL K V Kashyap Prakash scored a brilliant 84 while Ch Bheema Rao took 3 wickets and Jagadeesh took 3 wickets. The cricket tournament was organised by Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) at Bokaro Steel City from 7th to 15th January 2020.
This is the second time that RINL won the Inter - Steel Cricket Championship, the earlier occasion being during 2017-18.Sri PK Rath, CMD, RINL and Sri KC Das, Director (Personnel) congratulated RINL Cricket team and Sports Department on this achievement.
A total of twelve teams participated in the event. Teams were divided into four groups. RINL was along with Salem Steel Plant (SSP) and Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) in Group ‘C’.In the semi finals, JSW scored 163/6 in 20 overs, while RINL achieved the target 165/2 in 19 overs. For RINL K V Kashyap Prakash 56, Ch Jogesh 57, K P Sai Rahul 24 while Jagadeesh took three wickets.
In the first league match, Salem Steel Plant (SSP) scored 112/9 in 20 overs. RINL scored 113/6 in 17.4 overs. Sai Rahul of RINL took four wickets while Ch. Jogesh scored 37 runs. In the second league match, RINL scored 205/5in 20 overs and restricted BSP to 148/8 in 20 overs. For RINL, Captain B P Srinivas 69, K V Kashyap Prakash 57, Sai Rahul 51 contributed with the bat while Ch Srinivas took two wickets.
