Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station of DVC was successfully commissioned
West Bengal: The railway corridor of 2x600 MW Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) of Damodar Valley Corporation was commissioned recently. The first rail-bound coal rake entered the power station on 20th February 2021.
This 17.6 km long railway corridor connects RTPS with the Joychandipahar railway station. Presently this will ensure single line connectivity while work on the double line is underway.
The power station was commissioned in March 2016 and was being run with road-bound coal. Commissioning of the railway corridor will help in ensuring sufficient coal stock for running both the units in full load and achieving economies of scale. This will help in the industrial development of the area.
DVC is grateful to all stakeholders for extending their help and cooperation in the completion of the railway corridor in spite of several roadblocks.
