SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant Calendar Year-2020 Record Performance

Bhilai: The SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has recorded several record demonstrations during the calendar year 2020 despite the obstacles and challenges arising due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Working on a strategy to optimize the performance of modex units, Plant Blast Furnace-8 with RMP3, Steel Melting Shop-3, Universal Rail Mill and Bar & Rod Mill, Modex Units Calendar Performed the record in the year-2020

Increasing its production capacity, new modex units of the plant including Coke Oven Battery-11, Blast Furnace-8, Sintering Plant Machine-2, RMP-3, and BRM last calendar year 2019 Recorded an increase of 1.5 %, 5.0 %, 8.3 %, 75.0 %, and 191.8 % respectively.

Blast Furnace-8 recorded a record production of 2,434,453 tonnes hot metal in 2020, better than the previous record of 2,318,495 tonnes acquired in 2019 | Steel Melting Shop - 3 recorded the highest production of cast steel 1,960,238 tonnes, more than 827,586 tonnes produced compared to 2019 last year.

UTS-90 Prime Rail's highest loading so far is 1,216,402 tonnes, more than 1,211,584 tonnes loaded in the year-2019 The long rail loading also made records, the 715,644 tonnes of loading was the highest loading of 593,975 tonnes more than the 593,975 tonnes loaded in 2019

The Bar & Rod Mill recorded the highest production of 314,638 tonnes so far, built crossing the last best of 107,812 tonnes acquired in 2019 Apparently Bar & Rod Mill marketed new grades of TMT's cell secure grades and different types of bars and coils during 2020

RMP-3 recorded the best total production of 276,064 tonnes in 2020, crossing its previous best production record of 155,776 tonnes in 2019

Regarding the increase recorded in the last calendar year, the total 26-meter rail production and loading recorded 64.3 % and 78.9 % respectively as compared to the previous year. Similarly, the total production and loading of long rails recorded a 19.1 % and 20.5 % rise compared to last year. Plate mill in domestic sales and export sector recorded an impressive rise of 85.9 % in high tencil plate production as compared to last year.

Total raw mall handling in the handling plant towards the plant has been recorded a 2.1 % rise as compared to last year. Plant's Captive Mines Hirry Mines recorded 11.7 % growth in Dolomite Production compared to last year.
