SAIL-Durgapur Steel Plant carried out Tree Plantation drive
ED, Mr. Muniraju opined environment protection as the key focus area for better plant operation and urged others to plant tree saplings at their home and elsewhere too.
Durgapur: A tree plantation drive was carried out on 11.09.2021 by Durgapur Steel Plant in steel township with the support of Town Services, DSP. "We know this year being 75th year of independence, the Government of India has called for various initiatives to be carried out under AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV mission for projecting our progressive India, its glorious history, people, culture and its achievements," SAIL DSP mentioned in a press release.
The tree plantation drive started with planting of tree saplings by Mr. R Muniraju, ED (P&A), Mr. AK Paul, CGM I/c (P&A), Mr. S J Jachuck, CGM (HRD), Mr. V Manwati, CGM (TS) and other senior officials, representatives of trade unions & officers association and employees at large promoting a clean and green DSP with the larger aim of combating global warming, preventing pollution, reducing carbon dioxide and enriching oxygen levels of the atmosphere.
While expressing his valuable words, ED, Mr. Muniraju opined environment protection as the key focus area for better plant operation and urged others to plant tree saplings at their home and elsewhere too. It may be known that the recent plantation drive was a part of the series of several other past and future tree plantation initiatives planned to be carried out at DSP under the AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV mission.
