SJVN Celebrated 74th Independence Day

Shimla: SJVN celebrated 74th Independence Day of India with great fervour and enthusiasm. Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN unfurled the national flag at Corporate Headquarters, Shimla in the august presence of Director (Personnel) Mrs Geeta Kapur, Director (Civil) Sh. S.P Bansal, Director (Finance) Sh. A.K Singh and Director (Electrical) Sh. Sushil Sharma along with other senior officers. Keeping in view the challenging situation due to COVID-19, maintaining the norms of social distancing and masks etc., limited number of employees were also present on the occasion.

Sh. Nand Lal Sharma paid tributes to the valiant freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to achieve freedom of the nation and exhorted all the employees to work dedicatedly towards achievement of Shared Vision of becoming 25000 MW company by 2040.
 
In an innovative initiative, especially keeping in view the scenario of global pandemic, Chairman & Managing Director, Sh Nand Lal Sharma, rewarded Sanitation Workers deployed in SJVN by the contractor. In this drive, 34 (Thirty Four) Sanitation Workers were rewarded @ Rs 5000/- each, for their valuable contribution in keeping the office premises of SJVN clean. Sh. Sharma said that the CORONA Warriors i.e Sanitation Workers are at the frontlines of this global crisis and play important role in keeping our workplace clean and hygienic.
 
Sh. Sharma further said that SJVN is in the forefront in fight against COVID-19. SJVN employees have already contributed one day salary to reward 1180 Sanitation Workers–‘CORONA Warriors’ of Municipal Corporation, Shimla, one day salary to the PM CARES fund and one day salary to HP, CM Relief Fund. He also informed that SJVN has also provided a financial support of more than Rs. 2 Crore to the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
 
Sh. Sharma stated that besides these, SJVN has been liberally extending financial as well as material support to procure ventilators, other medical equipment, Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs), masks, sanitizers & gloves in various hospitals of Government of Himachal Pradesh. To combat the Corona challenge, SJVN has also contributed Rs. 25 Crore towards PM CARES Fund.
