Anurag Gupta reappointed as Jharkhand DGP
Mr Singh has been made the Chairman cum Managing Director of Jharkhand Police Housing Corporation Limited.
After taking over as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, the Hemant Soren administration appointed a new DGP of the state. Anurag Gupta (IPS: 1990: JH) has again been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Jharkhand replacing Ajay Kumar Singh (IPS: 1989: JH).
Mr Singh has been made the Chairman cum Managing Director of Jharkhand Police Housing Corporation Limited.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) reappointed Ajay Kumar Singh as the Jharkhand DGP days after removing Anurag Gupta (IPS: 1990: JH) as the acting police chief. Mr Singh was selected from a panel of three IPS officers whose names were sent by the state government. Ajay Kumar Singh, appointed Jharkhand DGP in February 2023, was removed in July 2024.
