BCPL Observed International Womens Day

 

In the panel discussion invited panelists were Ms.Sanchita Banerjee, Chief General Manager, Oil India Limited and Apex President of Women In Public Sector (WIPS), renowed playback singer and music director of the Assamese Film Industry Ms.Tarali Sarmah, Ms. Sanjukta Dutta, an Assamese designer who designs unique styled Assamese mekhela chador blended with modern accents in a contemporary fashion and Ms.Aradhana Borthakur, Assistant Professor Centre for Management Studies,Dibrugarh University.

 

The event was also graced by Shri Reep Hazarika, Managing Director, BCPL and Shri Asit Das General Manager (HR).Shri Asit Das, General Manager(HR)in his opening remarks emphasized on the subject of gender equality by showing a presentation on WLFPR(Women Labour Force Participation Rate)and why it is declining day by day with huge rural gap.

 

The Generation Equality campaign is bringing together people of every gender, age, ethnicity, race, religion and country, to drive actions that will create the gender-equal world we all deserve.

 

Keeping in view the theme of International Women’s Day few programmes were also organized for the women folks of BCPL .An awareness programme on Health and Wellness programme and skill development for the peripheral and support female staff and other contract workers were also organized.

 

Various competitions like collage, slogan competitions were also organized among the women employees and contract employees to celebrate on the occasion.

 

The event turned out to be a very rich and fulfilling experience for the female employees as it provided a platform for interaction as well sharing of success stories and challenges.
