BEL signs MoU with Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited
The MoU aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and AVNL (AVANI) to address domestic and export opportunities
Bengaluru: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed an MoU with Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL/AVANI), a Defence PSU, to jointly address the requirements of Indian Defence and Export markets.
The MoU aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and AVNL (AVANI) to address domestic and export opportunities in the areas of Combat Vehicles, Main Battle Tanks (MBTs), Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs), Armored Fighting Vehicles (AFVs) and related systems.
Mr Dinesh Kumar Batra, then CMD, BEL, and Mr A N Srivastava, CMD, AVNL/AVANI, exchanged the MoU signed between BEL and AVANI at Defexpo 2022, in the presence of Mr Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, Director (Other Units), BEL, Mr Sanjay Dwivedi, Director (Operations), AVNL, Mr Manoj Jain, Director (R&D), BEL, Mr Manoj Kumar, Executive Director, BEL, and other senior officers of BEL and AVANI.
About AVNL/AVANI
AVNL is a Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Government of India (carved out of the erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board), and possesses modern infrastructure and capability of designing and building sophisticated Armoured Fighting Vehicles such as Tanks, Infantry Combat Vehicle, Mine Protected Vehicles (MPV), Logistics Vehicles, etc. AVNL has the complete wherewithal for manufacturing of T-72 and T-90 Tanks, MBT Arjun, Bridge Layer Tank, Trawl, BMP-II & its variants, MPV 4x4, MPV 6x6, Stallion 5/7.5 T, LPTA 2.5 T, Close Range Naval Gun (CRN-91), Naval Decoy Launcher Kavach, High Power Engines and Transmission Assemblies for all these vehicles.
