Bharat Coking Coal Ltd Converted Gokul Park
New Delhi: Bharat Coking Coal Ltd. has converted a part of its amalgamated NT-ST-JG Colliery in its Lodna Area into an Ecological Park. Christened as ‘Gokul Park’ it is spread over an area of 22 hectares of land and has over 33,600 plant species. Due to the extensive flora and greenery in the park, the birds and small species like chameleon have returned to this park. One can breathe in fresh air at Gokul Park, without realising that it is surrounded by coal mining operations.
The park was visited by delegates from Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Denmark & Australia who were amazed by this environment landmark within a coalfield. Students from various schools, colleges and other institutions visit this park as a part of their educational field visits.
