BHEL, CMD flagged off electric locomotive in Jhansi
It is worth mentioning that BHEL has already manufactured and supplied WAG-7 and WCAM-2, 3 type electric locomotives for Indian Railways.
Dr. Nalin Singhal, CMD, BHEL flagged off a 6000 horse power WAG-9 HC electric locomotive manufactured at BHEL Jhansi for Indian Railways at the Jhansi unit. Shri Vinay Nigam, Head of Jhansi unit and officials of Indian Railways were present on this occasion. It is worth mentioning that this locomotive has been manufactured under the prestigious order of 75 similar locomotives received by BHEL.
Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and technology based on three phase IGBT, this locomotive is the most powerful locomotive of Indian Railways. There is an air-conditioned driver's cabin on either side of this engine.
One of the cabins is fitted with a vacuum based bio-toilets. It is worth mentioning that BHEL has already manufactured and supplied WAG-7 and WCAM-2, 3 type electric locomotives for Indian Railways.
