BPCL bags KMA Annual CSR Awards 2020 for initiatives in three categories

The KMA has instituted CSR awards to encourage awareness, knowledge creation, and engagement and to recognize genuine efforts in this direction.

New Delhi: For the third consecutive year Bharat Petroleum bags the Kerala Management Association (KMA) Annual CSR Awards 2020 for initiatives in three categories namely Education, Health & Hygiene, and Child & Elderly Care by Kochi Refinery. 

On behalf of BPCL, Shri Kurian P Alapatt, Chief General Manager (HR), Kochi Refinery received the awards from Shri TT Thomas, Past President, KMA at a function held at Ernakulam on 17 December 2021 in the presence of  Shri R Madhav Chandran, President KMA President and Shri Jibu Paul, Immediate Past President, KMA. The function was virtually inaugurated by Shri P Rajeev, Hon'ble Minister, Industries, Law & Coir, and the Government of Kerala. 

BPCL won first place in Education for initiatives including 'Centre of Excellence' project of Government Girls High School, Tripunithura, the Roshni project for bringing children of inter-state labourers into the mainstream, the first meal project to over 35000 students in the district, Home Based Rehabilitation project for the differently-abled children at homes, Jaleo Mahal Art Centre for the differently-abled and support for developing educational infrastructure for Government schools.

Kalady Swachh Iconic place project, Marine Ambulance to save the distressed at sea, dialysis units, trauma units, and health facilities in Government hospitals, Primary Health Centres, RO plants in schools, sanitary napkin vending machines, and incinerators in all Government and Aided schools in Ernakulam, medical camps, medical insurance policy for the neighborhood and the Mobile Medical Unit to provide healthcare to the poor at their doorsteps are the major projects which won the first place in the Health & Hygiene category.

In the category of Child & Elderly Care, the first place for the support extended towards facility enhancement and supplementary nutrition for Anganwadis, construction of ten anganwadis, support to construct one floor of Nish Chintha skill centre for differently-abled, support to Udbodh project towards care for the Dementia affected, infrastructure to Palliative care units and facilities to Home for destitute aged women.
