CPCL, MD met Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K.Stalin
Mr. Arvind Kumar conveyed CPCL's support for the programme which is expected to increase the green cover of the State from 24% to 33%.
Tamil Nadu: Mr. Arvind Kumar, Managing Director, CPCL, met the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.K.Stalin at the launch of Green Tamil Nadu Mission in Chennai on September 24. Mr. Arvind Kumar conveyed CPCL's support for the programme which is expected to increase the green cover of the State from 24% to 33%.
As President of Manali Industries Association (MIA), MD, CPCL presented a cheque for Rs.35 Lakhs from various Manali Industries including CPCL's contribution of Rs.15 Lakhs for plantation of trees in selected areas of Manali and its surroundings.
Speaking on the occasion, the Hon'ble Chief Minister said the mission aims at an ambitious target of planting 265 crore seedlings of native trees in an area of about 13,500 sq.km in 10 years. Apart from other State Ministers and Officials, Ms.Supriya Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary (Environment, Climate Change and Forest) was also present on the occasion.
