Delhi Metro observes 26th foundation day

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) completed yet another eventful year of its journey on Sunday, as it observed it's 26th Foundation Day.

However, unlike the preceding years, this year, the occasion could not be formally celebrated, in view of the ongoing lockdown to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. In a message, DMRC Managing Director Mangu Singh congratulated the employees and said, 'On this special day, we should all be extremely proud of what we have been able to achieve as an organisation. Today, Delhi Metro stands as one of the largest Metro systems in the world, with a massive network of 360 km, 264 stations and 14 depots.
 
“More than 60 lakh journeys with punctuality of over 99 per cent were being performed on the Delhi Metro every day, prior to the suspension of services in March.” The last one year of DMRC’s journey was also studded with many milestones, a DMRC spokesperson said.
 
DELHI METRO’s Entire communication strategy has been virtual using Twitter, what's app, Facebook and intranet (for interna viewing).All communication developed inhouse in 2 days.
