Divestment of 23 PSUs cleared by Cabinet
New Delhi: Cabinet cleared the divestment 23 PSUs and the government is working on completing the stake sale process in the following public sector companies said finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday.
She also said that she would also meet small finance firms and non-banking finance companies (NBFCs) to reviews the credit being extended by them to businesses.
While conversating with Sunil Kant Munjal Chairman of Hero Enterprises, Sitharaman said the final call as to which are the sectors are going to be called strategic is not made yet, that has to be announced and I can’t preempt what announcement is likely to be come.
For the 2020-21 fiscal, the government has set a disinvestment target of Rs 2.10 lakh crore. Of this Rs 1.20 lakh crore from disinvestment of public sector undertaking and another Rs 90,000 crore from stake sale in the financial institution.
